Free Software for Teacher Training
Softease supports the Initial Teacher Training Software Site Licence (ITTSSL) as agreed by BESA (the British Educational Suppliers Association), the ITTE (The Association for Information Technology in Teacher Education) and the TDA (Training and Development Agency).
This means that we will provide a site licence for the following software packages free of charge to establishments with Initial Teacher Training provision. Click here for licence terms and conditions.
The purpose of the agreement is to ensure that ICT can be more easily embedded in training institutions, thus influencing the competence and confidence of tomorrow's teachers.
- Textease Studio CT - now rapidly being taken up by primary schools. NINE fully integrated Textease tools in a single application
- Textease Timeline - a new dimension to sequencing events
- Textease IdeasMap - a visual thinking tool to collect and organise ideas
- Tizzy's First Tools - seven ICT tools for 4 to 7 year olds
- Teddy Bear Tools - An integrated set of four learning resources aimed at the three-to-fives
- Podium - Tell your story with the all in one podcasting solution. (Podium is strictly licensed for initial teacher training use only. Should other Academic Schools, Departments or individual wish to use Podium they will need to purchase a separate licence. To find out more click here).
Together with the licence we will ship up to 20 CDs per application, per establishment. If you require further CDs, please email sales@softease.com to request this.
FREE licences for students*
Under the ITTSSL agreement all Initial Teacher Training (ITT) students are also entitled to a copy of our software in use at their ITT establishment. However their licence is only valid whilst they are undertaking their initial teacher training and for one year after they have graduated. After this period students should cease to use the software and uninstall it from their PCs. The software given to students for use during their training does NOT licence use of the software in any school.
